Emily Johnson

Hello!

As a digital producer and content creator, I have a diverse range of experience within the creative field. This includes understanding within photography, videography, photoshoot management, filmmaking, content creation and
social media management, graphic design, and digital media production.

Additionally, my freelance endeavours over the duration of my university course extend to roles such as an artist liaison and events assistant, adding depth to my versatile skill set.

Reloaded Magazine

The objective within the Creative Media Project module was to produce a lifestyle magazine, titled ‘Reloaded’, with an underlying theme of working class artists and individuals. Reloaded emerged from a vision to redefine youth culture, offering a platform tailored for working-class artists, fashion designers, and musicians. Rooted in the belief that creativity should have no socio-economic bounds, Reloaded set out to democratise access to creative spaces whilst reflecting the gritty authenticity of its audience. With a blend of music, fashion, politics, and art, Reloaded aimed to disrupt traditional media narratives and empower its readers with voices that resonate with their experiences.

Life of a student film

The aim for my project was to create a piece of work that depicts the life of a Sheffield Hallam University student using sound design elements, instrumentals, and visuals. I have split this up into 4 different sections that I feel are they key aspects of university life.

Grace Whaley

My names Grace, I’m a digital designer from Northern Ireland. Some of my passions within digital media include graphic design, video editing, photography and a lot more. I’m actively looking forward to incorporating myself into the industry and look forward to maybe working with some of you!

I worked with a content creator on TikTok over the summer of 2023! This gave me an outlook into the industry, working with managers and the client, and what work would be like once I finished my degree!

Inequality in Gaming – Short Documentary

For this Creative Media Project it was decided to create a short film/documentary. The hope is that this short film brings to light a form of discrimination, hate crimes and misogyny that often is overlooked in the gaming scene, how people react to it and how it affects people’s view on gaming, the community, and the content creators within the space. The decision was made to create a documentary on the “Inequality within the gaming community, it’s effects and how to combat it,” considering sexism, homophobia, racism, and many other issues that are far too common within the gaming space.

Harvey Fox

Hello, I’m Harvey,

I am trying to specialise in photography, however I have experience creating content in a variety of formats.

I have recently completed my final year project, ‘Lies’, a photo-book predominantly focusing upon objects and spaces that over time have been completely transformed by the disarray of tags, graffiti and scrawls spewed across them.

‘Lies’ Photo-book

Lies is a photo-book predominantly focusing upon objects and spaces that were once alive in a sense as they were occupied or in use, but over time have been completely transformed by the disarray of names, quotes, artworks and stickers plastered upon them, almost transcended from the mundanity of the grey cityscape by a human touch to them that a harsh concrete building otherwise lacks.

Sydney Simpson

As a final year ‘Digital Media Production’ student, my journey has been fuelled by an unwavering passion for design and innovation. The opportunity to contribute my creative mindset and skills to dynamic Projects resonates with my aspirations. What distinguishes me is not only my technical proficiency but also my understanding of consumers and markets, fostered by my upbringing Growing up amidst family-owned retail businesses, I developed an acute eye for consumer trends and preferences, complemented by an awareness of the impact of popular culture on markets.

On Time Craft Beer Branding

For my creative Media Project I wanted to work on something that would allow me to have creative freedom and use my skills to showcase a piece of work that represents my hobbies, interests and creative style.

Being fond of a good pint and the details that create a brand, On Time was born. An imaginary craft beer start-up based in Sheffield, made to make craft beer more accessible to young people.

The brand is a vibrant expression of creativity, fun, and the dynamic relationship between beer and time. Embodying the spirit of Sheffield’s lively community, On Time crafts high-quality beers with distinct characters and stories.

With a commitment to uniqueness, fun illustrations, and funky typography, On Time aims to be more than just a craft beer – it’s a celebration of life’s moments, perfectly timed.
