A loving old dog has the perfect life; an adoring owner, every toy he could want, peace and quiet. However all this is ruined when the owner decides to surprise the old dog with a new puppy. The puppy ends up not being a very nice surprise for the old dog. The naughty little puppy eats all the food, destroys all the toys and ends up biting the poor old dog. The owner despairs and hopes that eventually the two dogs will overcome their differences and might become friends.
My name is Grace Newman and I am a third year animation student at Sheffield Hallam University who specialises in 2D animation. I always loved watching animation since i was young and my love only developed further when creating my own short film. I was inspired by my own two dogs to make my final year film, ‘The New Puppy’, which follows the story of an old dog and a new puppy and their relationship.
