Technical Support is about a robot in therapy. They go to meet their therapist about a fight they had that week but it leads them to discover other truths about themselves that they’ve always pushed away.

I’m Andrew Zebedee, I’m currently a final year Animation student at Sheffield Hallam University. My chosen specialism is Stop Motion, with a focus on Puppet Fabrication. I’ve used Gundam plastic model kits to create the puppets, which have then been hand painted and weathered by myself to look more real. Model making and painting has been a hobby of mine for many years and it was something that I wanted the opportunity to explore more through my work. This brought me to developing ‘Technical Support’, a film focused around the model kits. I wanted to use this as an opportunity to push my skills with the kits further, and show them off in some way. I wanted the fact that they were robots to be a part of the story, something that played into the purpose of the piece. My film discusses mental health and I felt that using the robots as a proxy to do that would help alleviate some of the stigma that can come with discussing mental health.
