In just one of the many under brushes in the Himalayas, hungry jumping spider Ari searches for a meal. When he finally discovers a dead insect to eat, a colossal owl by the name of Laya pierces through the underbrush canopy, scaring Ari away before stealing his food. Powered on by his rumbling stomach, Ari battles through his fear and chases after the dinner-stealing culprit.

I’m Will, an animation student from York currently located in Sheffield and studying at Sheffield Hallam University in my final year. Since I was a child, I have had a deep fascination and wonder for the weird and wonderful animals and locations of our world. Although I initially pursued these interests through a scientific route, when I reached college I decided to combine this curiosity with my enjoyment for creative writing and artwork. This resulted in me studying ‘Creative Media’ (UAL) at college and my continued interest has driven me to my current position as the creator of my own short animated piece. Along this journey, my skill development and understanding of animation has allowed me to express those childhood fascinations that have stuck with me throughout my life.
