Subject Group Leader Film and Photography
As Subject Group Leader for Film and Photography, Annie provides academic and management leadership, and aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurialism. She currently line manages 17 core staff and 19 Associate Lecturers. She has been teaching film-making and scriptwriting as a Senior Lecturer for seven years (and two years previously as an Associate Lecturer) on Film and Media Production, and has also been Quality Lead for Media Arts.
Adam Shepherd
Senior Lecturer in Games Design
Adam teaches within Games Design. During his time at the university I have taught 3D modelling, Rigging, Texturing and Animation through levels 4-7, as well as various skills and techniques within software such as Zbrush, for high polygon definition with character creation.
Dr Joan Ramon Rodriguez-Amat
Principal Lecturer, Subject Group Leader for Media and Photography
Joan joined SHU in 2015. Here, he currently teaches and forms his research about the politics of Media Technologies and Industries, with particular attention to how they shape the conditions for social communicative interactions. His international record of posts, publications and research includes a postdoc at the University of Vienna (2011-2015), and guest research and teaching experience in more than a dozen universities including Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Catalonia, Argentina, and Malaysia.
Dr James Fenwick
Senior Lecturer in Media
James is a Senior Lecturer in Media Studies at Sheffield Hallam University and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Media degree. He teaches modules such as Media Texts and Genres and Media Industries. My research focuses on film and media history and heritage and the use and study of media archives to understand material cultures of the film, television, and media industries. I welcome PhD proposals in the broad area of film and media history and heritage, as well as in the area of film, media and cultural industries in an urban context.

Senior Lecturer and Course Leader MA Arts & Cultural Management
Sara is Course Leader for the MA in Arts and Cultural Management. She leads the Context for Culture and Arts Management in Practice modules and supervises dissertations. Before joining Sheffield Hallam University Sara worked in the cultural sector and maintains a professional role, with a particular interest in small scale cultural organisations. Her research interests are in cultural policy, how data can impact on our understanding of engagement, and how this interacts with policy.
Dr Judith Stewart
Lecturer MA Arts & Cultural Management
I am an artist, writer, and curator whose interests centre on questions relating to landscape and the rural everyday. A further strand of research concerns participatory practices and the hierarchical structures that determine relationships between artists, galleries, and audiences. I teach mainly on the Arts & Cultural Management MA where I lead modules on Critical Issues in Culture and Research Methods and Skills, and supervise dissertations.
