SHU Law Collaboration

Sheffield Hallam University, second year BA (Hons) Journalism, Public Relations and Media students worked with student-run law firm SHU Law last term to develop a PR branding strategy, campaign plan and portfolio for their module Brand Management and Entrepreneurship. The deputy vice chancellor, David Shepherd visited SHU Law on the 14th of February to find out more about the activities or SHU Law and some of the Brand Management and Entrepreneurship students were invited to present their work and showcase their collaboration with SHU Law.

The supervising solicitor, Sally Ayres at SHU Law said after the visit “The DVC was really positive about his experience and really enjoyed the opportunity to speak with staff and students.”

Professor David Shepherd said: “This was invaluable to me in getting to know the University better and understand your particular opportunities and challenges.”

Journalism, PR and Media student Mary Walker said: “I really enjoyed having the opportunity to visit SHU Law and meet the team and the deputy Vice Chancellor. I presented my work which gave me an opportunity to experience what the job of a PR consultant would entail. “

Brand management and Entrepreneurship module leader Liz Bridgen said “We were really pleased with how this collaboration worked and our students got a great insight into what it’s like to work with a client”
