Calling all budding filmmakers!

Check out this amazing opportunity to work alongside professionals creating a 5–10 minute film. The BFI short filmmaking development opportunity.

If you are aged 18-25 and located in the North, then you meet the requirements to apply for this amazing experience. You will receive funding of £2000 for you and your production team to work with.

The course runs for a 5 month period, where you will go through all of the different stages of creating a professional film.

Each application requires at least 3-5 members within the production group, a perfect chance for you and your course mates to work together and develop your film making skills.

Still unsure if this is something that you would be interested in taking part in? Daren Eagles, who teaches at the BFI film academy has to say.

“This is a great opportunity for early career filmmakers at SHU and besides the very useful £2000 funding, the mentor support and networking are invaluable. An ex-student of the BFI’s Film Academy in Sheffield has recently been working with Lucasfilm on the latest Star Wars series Andor as part of the BFI Future Skills Programme, so you really don’t know where it could lead. SHU has a great relationship with BFI and we are looking forward to supporting our young filmmakers through a variety of initiatives in the coming months.”
