At the end of April the Journalism and PR society were celebrating after winning the ‘Best New Society‘ award at the SU societies awards ball, triumphing against stiff competition from the Ecomomics, LGBTQ+, SHOUT, and Nintendo societies.

Course leader Rebecca Willett was delighted with the news stating that “We only set this up at Christmas so as you can imagine this is a big achievement to have won in a few months”, and continued with praise to the students “It is a reflection of the hard work some of the L6 students in particular have put in, including organised mentoring sessions, industry conferences and events, an organised academic trip to Barcelona”

The students will be continuing their celebrations later this month at the end of term ball that they have organised at the Crowne Plaza.
