‘Emma & Rob’, 2022

It is human nature to be in relationships, be that romantic or platonic. We all crave connections with others and this project portrays the closeness and separateness within relationships, more specifically romantic relationships. Thinking about the different types of connections people have within relationships, the best way to depict this was to show different sides to these partnerships, to use portraiture, in a studio setting. ‘Emma & Rob’, the couple that feature in this work, their connection is what is focused on within this project. Their relationship is captured within the images in which we see them in different poses that demonstrate the closeness and separateness within romantic relationships.
