One of the biggest psychological struggles in mental health is accepting the burden.  ‘Portraits tell stories: they are interpretations of their sitters, visual narratives for which we assume sitters and painters are, in varying degrees, responsible’. (Berger) Signifying that each image is an interpretation relating to semiotics, conveying photographic signs can trigger emotions, particularly if the subject means something to the individual admiring the image. Drawing on the narrative, the reflection of the image can have a psychological impact on the viewer, allowing the image to become susceptible to the sublime and therefore providing endless possibilities.
