Echoes, 2022

Memory is a concept. Photographs are used as windows to the past, although the stories they tell do not truthfully portray the original moment. Our memories can become obscure, isolated or mixed up to a point where they become fiction. Echoes is a collection of distorted moments from student nightlife as COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. Destructive physical processes take over the photographs capturing friends and strangers together in a surreal form. Intimate moments appear through the distortion as they hang on to existence. The experimental process causes damage and blitz through each individual photograph, leading them to warp and fade away in the same way that the antics which occurred throughout these nights are forgotten.
